Tools and resources
A suite of resources has been created to support organisations, service users, families and carers to actively participate in Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) quality reviews and processes.
- Human Services Quality Framework - provides an overview of the Human Services Quality Framework, underlying principles, benefits and compliance requirements.
- Human Services Quality Standards - detailing the six Human Services Quality Standards and associated indicators.
- Quality Pathway Kit for service providers
The HSQF team has developed an information kit to assist service providers understand and implement a quality system, work through the review process against the standards and implement continuous improvement. The kit includes a series of 10 information sheets which cover the key steps in achieving certification under the HSQF. The information sheets can be read separately or together in the Quality pathway kit Quality pathway kit .

To complement these resources, the Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) has developed an online eTraining course that enables service providers to work through the Quality Pathways Kit through online modules. After viewing the materials and completing the self-check quizzes, service providers can download a certificate of completion. The HSQF Quality Pathways eTraining course can be accessed on Community Door.
QCOSS resources and support
The Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) is providing a range of supports to assist the sector to implement and embed the HSQF. These supports are primarily targeted at organisations funded by the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors (DCDSS) and the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women (DCSYW). QCOSS supports include:
- one-on-one or small group support - to assist organisations that are new to HSQF to implement a quality system and prepare for their quality assessment activities. Organisations can self-refer using the Online referral form for access to QCOSS support or be referred by their contract officer
- a range of HSQF specific information and resources available on-line through the Community Door website - this includes the HSQF quality pathways eTraining course, policy and procedure templates that can be downloaded and customised by organisations and a range of other information resources.
